Auspicious; (adj.) ripe for success ex. an auspicious day is one that is lucky, blessed or ordained by God. -Author’s Definition
There’s no denying it; meaning makes it all better—or worse, depending on who you are. Most of us have faced abuse; we don’t always call it that but when we examine our reactions to events that don’t have anything to do with us, we can start to see trauma responses bleed through our papery exteriors.
There are two main responses to abuse, one is to respond in a fawning, emulating behaviour toward our abusers. The second is to become parentified; to take care of the neglected and unloved even above our own selves. In an abusive organisation it is those who respond with fawning emulation that are seen to have grown up and the second to be molly coddling and eventually disobedient and disciplined out of fellowship. You’ll notice that in both instances the abused are kept in a child-like state. The first in a kind of sophomoric pride and the second barely holding it together as they attempt to follow Jesus in a caustic environment. The result is that we suffer frequent waking nightmares; conspiracies of auspicial importance.
